Welcome to Pitootsky!

Let’s talk about me shall we? Since I do love talking about myself so much I have opted to create a blog and this here is fruit of my labor, err…button pressing? This blog is entirely dedicated to me, my life, and most things that pass through  my mind (beware!). My life does, however, have a focus on fitness, nutrition, funny things on the interwebz, thoughts about life, and anything related to those (e.g. fooodz!).

I am 22 years old and currently a student at Virginia Tech studying Human Nutrition Foods & Exercise. I am uber excited about where my life is headed and can’t wait to finish undergrad school and continue my awesomeness!

Back story:

One of the most remembered phrases to ever come out of my father’s mouth was, “He’s a growing boy, he needs to eat!” Since I took everything my father said to be the absolute, profound truth, these words became an axiom to live by. And eventually I became this:

Me at 270 lbs.

Before I go any further, I’d like to disclose that I DO NOT blame my father or anyone else for my previous weight. I made the decision to eat the food that I did.

It wasn’t until after high school that I decided that I needed to make a change. I wasn’t happy with myself and it suddenly hit me that it was up to me to do something about it.

I started reading Muscle & Fitness magazines along with some books/encyclopedias based on bodybuilding and changed my diet. Now, the stuff that I was reading is, to be polite, the wrong material for anybody interested in general fitness and health to be reading (my opinion). I eventually lost a ton of weight (okay maybe not a ton) but in the process I drove my body into the ground and ended up in a not-so-healthy state, both mentally and physically.

To cut a longer story short, I slowly clawed my way out of the delusional hole I had dug for myself and learned to be happy and appreciative of everything I take on in life. I am now very comfortable with myself and the process in which I am continuing to improve. After all my changes, this is where I sit today:

Me Now

I’m the one on the left, in case you’re wondering…

I love to hear the opinions of others so as you’re reading my blog (you better read it!) tell me all your thoughts and opinions.
